Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has doubted the possibility of the general election being held without chaos.
According to him, the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission has failed to build the consensus needed for a credible election.
Speaking on Woezor TV on Saturday, October 17, 2020, John Mahama said he expects the December 7 polls to be fraught with anomalies.
“I can anticipate some chaos on the election day. People will not find their names here and there. I have been an MP before and I know how these happen. I have also warned about the BVRs and how they will perform, we do not know”
He also described the relationship between the EC and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) as hostile.
“Elections are about consensus, we build a consensus and we move on. That is why the IPAC is very important. Now, the IPAC is like an enemy to the EC. The EC has gone to resurrect a lot of dead bodies and added them to IPAC so that they can be the majority and bulldoze their way through. On the day of the election, if the thing backfires, it will fall on you.”
John Mahama further alleged that the EC has transferred competent people who worked with the Charlotte Osei-led EC.
“Those three commissioners have a mind of their own. They are doing things how they want. I hear that a lot of people who are very capable and are technically competent, because they served under Charlotte Osei administration, have been transferred out to the districts. This is why I have doubted the competence of this commission. I have no confidence in the EC”, he stated.
Ghana goes to the polls to elect a President and Members of Parliament on December 7, 2020.
It will be the country’s eighth successive general election since the resumption of multiparty democracy in 1992.

Very negative. Preach peace and stop insulting the intelligence of the EC chair and the commissioners. Be a statesman. You can win only if you focus and stop the lies. Be an ambassador of peace and not chaos. Everybody who registered will vote. You created so much panic in Volta as if they were going to be destroyed during the registration but nothing happened. Shame.
That is healthy OPOSITION, allow him to talk. It is part of the game and he must be allowed to play it. You people criticising him rather don't know the tennets of the game, you better ***barred word*** your ***barred word*** mouths. They are all facts he is saying, If he doesn't say it, whom do you people think will say it? If Hon. Asiedu Nketia say it, you people say Hei! Why should he say it. Meanwhile, you people don't understand the game, "DEMOCRACY". Habba! You people must learn and stop sharpening your "criticism tools" to attack at all times,O! The politicians are playing their roles today and will not be there tomorrow, maybe you guys will get involved when they leave the scene so you have to learn instead of the attacks. Try to find out what is "DEMOCRACY" all about? Get the meaning, the rules, the norms, ethics, tennets and everything clear and you will appreciate it end enjoy the game.
in the scenario where Mr Mahama wins the elections what is he going to say about the EC?
It seems JDM just arrived in Ghana. He keeps saying and seeing strange things, like he just arrived in Mother Ghana. This is a man who started his politics during the era where there were no transparent ballot boxes, when ballot boxes were siezed and taken away., when there was no biometric registration or voter verification, where the EC and ruling parties where also deep in bed. Nowvthos man rose from Minister, to Vice President and President because the opposition let sleeping dogs lie after each successive defeat suffered. He anticipated chaos in the voter registration ot did not happen. It seems he is extremely forgetful or ***barred word***. His utterances are like school truant making excuses for not passing thos exams yet again.
I anticipate container and not chaos🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
He and his party executives must be planning something to cause that chaos he is preaching about cos he seems to know something Ghanaians just don't see. So he is trying to prepare us all for what he has privy to that will happen. . God will surely deliver Ghana cos He does love us so much and has proven His love countless times.
Just relax.if you will win,you win.if the seat belongs to you ,you will win hands down,so pls tell the arm robbers to stop laying armbush killing innocent souls.we beg you president mahama.some us are even afraid to travel.tell the pentecost elder ofosu ampofo to stop inciting criminals to kill innocent souls.God will surely ask their blood from him
Mr Mahama what is wrong with you..? Ghana will survive this election peacefully.....
Mahama is now older his natural age? I see him as somebody who is 70+ and not age 62. He should create balance within him by avoiding negative thoughts and jealousy else he would have serious health problems.
Always talking in the negative.
