The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has lifted the suspension on the embattled former General Secretary of the party.
The committee’s ruling last Monday, January 25, 2021, after a hurriedly organized meeting in Accra to deliberate on the lifting of the suspension of Mr. Kwabena Agyepong and matters arising.
The report says the decision to lift the suspension on the former Chief Executive Officer of the party stem from the role he played in campaigning for the party and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure a second term victory for the party in the December 7, general elections.
Per the decision of the NEC to quash the earlier suspension, Mr. Agyepong is free to seek or contest any position in the party as a bonafide member of NPP.
The highest decision-making body of the party has further quashed the earlier suspension of Mr Kwabena Agyepong leading to his removal from office but stated that Mr. Agyepong would not be reinstated as there is a substantive General Secretary in the person of John Boadu.
Mr. Agyepong in 2015 was suspended by NEC of the party together with the then former National Chairman, Paul Afoko and the First Vice National Chairman, Sammy Crabbe over some disciplinary issues.

Kwabena, you should have rejected this offer. They disgraced you and tarnished your integrity. Now they have seen your usefulness because they are struggling to survive. God will guide you to successful life without them. Ne bold and act well.
KWABENA IS INTELLIGENT AND SMART. HE IS AFFABLE AND HE SPEAKS HIS MIND. THIS MAKES HIM EITHER LOVED OR HATED BUT ALWAYS RESPECTED. A MAN OF PRINCIPLE WHO BELIEVES IN FAIR PLAY. HE IS A TYPE OF A PERSON WE NEED IN OUR BODY POLITICS. IN FACT HE SHARES GREAT AMOUNT OF CHARACTERISTIS WITH AKUFO ADDO. I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THINGS WENT WRONG. IT IS TIME FOR GHANAIANS TO BUILD BRIDGES TO GET THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY IN GOVERNANACE. THE POLITICS OF DIVIDE MUST DIE WITH JJ. AFAKO, KOKU ANYIDOHO, AHWOIS, SAMIA AND ALL OTHER MUST BE BROUGHT INTO NPP. IT IS DONE BEFORE. FREDDY BLAY, KWAKU BAAKO, AND THE REST WERE ALL CPP YET THEY WERE BOUGHT INTO NPP FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION . KUFFOUR DID IT. NANA HAS DONE IT. PEOPLE LIKE KWABENA AND OTHER CAN DO IT. NOBODY SHOULD TWART THEM FROM DOING THAT.
@Albert, yes! it was nick named Risco. In 1979, 35 pupils of my mates gained admission to Opoku Ware, 15 to Prempeh, about 20 to the schools in Cape Coast, 10 to St Lewis, 18 to St Monica's and other top secondary schools. I stand to be corrected, it was the first international boarding school in Ghana. I remember the Dele brothers from Nigeria and others from Liberia.
He is (Kwabena Agyepong) a product of once a great pre secondary school which was called Royal International School in Kumasi. Unfortunately it is now a defunct school because of the unnecessary litigation amongst the late Mr Mensah's (blessed memory) children.
l am not a political activist of any party, but l have admired Kwabena since he was a secretary to former president Kuffour. He needs to be compensated with a good position within the current administration.
