Head of Pyschology at the University of Ghana, Professor Joseph Osafo has waded into discussions regarding recent utterances of Hon. Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, Member of Parliament for Asawase, against the Supreme Court.
Hon. Muntaka alleged that a Justice of the Supreme Court tried to bribe a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) to influence her in the election of a Speaker of Parliament.
This allegation by the MP has been classified as an indictment on the Supreme Court Justices.
He has therefore apologised for any harm done to the reputation and integrity of the Lord Justices of the Supreme Court and members of the Judiciary.
''I therefore wish to retract same and apologise for the harm done to the image and reputation of my Lord Justices of the Supreme Court and the Judiciary as a whole. Based upon good counsel, I have also decided to let sleeping dogs lie and will consequently refrain from any further public commentary on the matter which, as I have indicated was originally reported to me by a female colleague Parliamentarian.
“It is my fervent prayer that the existing historic cordial relations between the legislature and the judiciary will not be affected by this incident but will continue to grow in the interest of the country,” portions of his release sighted by Peacefmonline.com read.
Professor Joseph Osafo has also called on the Judiciary and the general public to forgive Hon. Muntaka.
To him, Hon. Muntaka shouldn't be crucified any longer because he has accepted his fault and apologized.
"Let's leave the matter if he has retracted his comments because to err is human," he said during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Monday morning.

prof pls pls pls. u people are the reason why ppl misbehave. a whole honourable is able to tell lies and u ask for forgiveness for him? sad for gh.. ppl like this.
Prof. Safo these people in the ndc don't deserve forgiveness they are such characters who will cause more harm and damage later ! He needs to be punished to serve others and to show a signal to foreigners who get opportunities to serve in Ghana that you can't take your adopted country for granted ! Imagine a Ghanaian is given an opportunity in his home country and he disrespect their laws will he be happy ? We need to punish and stop this thing forgiveness which breeds lawlessness and indiscipline ! I expect the Professor to rather wage into he should be punished to reduce the indiscipline in the country ! Ghanaians in nature are law abiding hence every country like them they don't disrespect to give a bad name to Ghana! One would have expected after the aliens compliance order and Ghana accepting foreigners they would have been disciplined but its like they are trampling over our laws with impunity and look like at war with Ghana ! and this shouldn't be accepted ! MUNTAKA SHOULD BE PUNISHED TO TELL HIM & THOSE LIKE HIM THAT LAWS IN GHANA WORK!! THEY SHOULD GIVE RESPECT TO GHANA !
