Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader of Ghana's Parliament Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has denied reports that a green E-levy Cake which was seen at his 65th birthday bash was presented to him by the Minority Caucus.
He says it is neither the NDC or the leadership of the minority in parliament that presented the E-levy cake to him.
According to him, the cake was also neither made by him nor his wife or any member of his family but was presented to him by a private contractor.
Speaking on Okay Fm's Ade Akye Abia programme, the Suame MP explained how he come to own the E-levy cake.
".... i was unaware of such a cake since i only know of two cakes which one were presented to him by my wife in parliament.
"I planned to do something small in Kumasi to mark my 65th bday for this year because my 60th birthday was celebrated lavishly in Accra but i never thought it was going to be something big. But i can confidently tell you that the E-levy cake you saw was not presented to me by the NDC or the minority in parliament or anybody from family or party.
A private contractor who admires my character presented the cake. May be if i knew earlier, i would not have allowed it," he added.
In videos and pictures widely circulated on the internet from the birthday party of Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, a green coloured cake designed to spell the word ‘E-LEVY’ stole the spotlight at the just ended celebration.
With big names such the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, his wife, Samira Bawumia, the NPP Chairman for the Ashanti region, Chairman Wontumi, among other party bigwigs in attendance, it sure seemed like a flamboyant climax of the celebration of the man who is also the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George has dared the Majority Leader to name the NDC legislator who allegedly gifted him the E-Levy crafted cake.
This was after initial reports sought to suggest that the said cake was from the Minority.

This is a lazy write-up Why won't you mention the name of those who said it was the minority who sent it to him. It was Annor Dompreh, the Maojrity Chief Whip
NDC doesn't read or listen! They always follow their stomachs! The man at the center said the cake was NOT presented by any member of the minority (NDC). What does NDC like in Ghana. CREATE, LOOT & SHARE!
WHEN DID NDC BECAME MANAGERS OF THE ECONOMY IF THE GAVE GHANA AND GHANAIANS TO IMF TO MANAGE IT. SIGNED TAKE OR PAY POWER SECTOR AGREEMENTS, DOUBLE SALARY TAKERS, BUS BRANDING LOOTERS, WAYOMY LOOTERS, SOLD OLD 120 RAIL CARS FOR SCRAP WHICH COULD BEEN REPAIRE BY SWAME MAGAZANE FOR $50,000 DOLLARS. BRANDNEW OF THESE RAIL CARS COST 500,000 DOLLARS WHICH NPP CURRENTLY HAS FIXED 10 RAIL CARS BY SWAME MAGAZANE FOR 50,000 DOLLARS SUCH A DISPICABLE ART OF LOOT AND WASTE BY NDC ***barred word*** LOOSERS ECONOMIC MISMANAGEMENT. The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in 1987 obtained a first class degree in economics from the University of Buckingham, the only independent university with a Royal Charter. In Ontario, Canada. There's a provincial tax called (Hamonous) and it's 13% that is added to everything you buy from the shop. Suppose you see a pair of shoes that is priced at $100, you'd pay additional 13% on it so you'd end up paying for $113 at the cashier. Ghanaians complain too much but expect so much... Even if you go to the bank and exchange money from Canadian dollars to the US dollars, you'd be taxed 7% SO 1.75% IS A DROP IN THE OCEAN AND TELL GHANAIANS NOT TO THING OF COMING TO NORTH AMERICA BECAUSE TAXES IS WHAT MAKE THIS COUNTRY WORKED USA AND CANADA DO NOT BORROW TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR CITIZENS BUT RATHER THE CITIZENS PAY FOR THEIR DEVELOPMENT NO FREE LUNCH ANY WHERE IN THE WORLD LAZY GHANAIANS THE FREE DAYS ARE OVER LOOSERS.
