Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has cautioned the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be measured in their hope that the 2024 election year is a done deal and that they will by all means win power.
According to him, it will take hard work and vigilance from the party to pull off the magic wand in the election year.
In a post on his social media handle, Franklin Cudjoe said the government can turn things around before 2024 consequently giving the NDC a run for its money.
His comment comes on the back of the recent rising cost of living and an economic downturn which has compelled the government to seek assistance from the International Monetary Fund.
“Meanwhile the major opposition party, the NDC should not assume 2024 is a done deal. Harder work, a very different path to the current one and VIGILANCE. The NPP may turn things around by 2024,” Franklin Cudjoe tweeted.
Ahead of the 2024 elections, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has vowed to break the 8-year power cycle jinx under the Fourth Republic, where power changes hands every eight years between the NDC and NPP.
The NDC is lacing its boots to upend the governing party in 2024 in the wake of an economic crunch.

The alternate is scary
Since your recent criticisms of the NPP is having a negative impact onit’s fortunes this observation will convince us that you still have faith in us .Come 2024 our focus will be to steal more buy all govt institutions and CSO like yours so that power will be ours when our corrupt old man leaves Now that we have indirectly legalized corruption and NDC is likely to prosecute us please help us to win power so that we can appoint you as finance minister and collapse the economy so that IM F will come to our aid Greatings to Bentil
It's true that the NDC has double standards when it comes to stating the facts about national issues. Then, President Mahama makes a fantastic contribution to the challenges facing Africa and the whole world with respect to the pandemic and the Ukraine war before the Havard University audience. But when he has to speak on the same issues before the Ghanaian audience, he does the least justice to facts and tends to spew lies and vile propaganda, so much as to say, "I know the language you as Ghanaians understand," denoting the low level of intelligence of the Ghanaian audience. That is very sad indeed. As a former President, a little bit of statemanship and respect to the good people of Ghana would be much appreciated. They made you who you are today AND STILL PAY YOU FOR THAT!
The opposition political party did not win power because it was able to expose some wrongdoings of the ruling party. On the contrary, I believe a party that is able to convince the electorate with better policy intent to turn things around is given the mandate to do so. Political parties that cut corners with insinuated falsehoods to dupe electorates for their votes are often unconcerned about the well-being of the people, and thus corruption and kleptocracy become tools to maintain political power. The NDC has more chances than any party in Ghana to form a government in the Fourth Republic and, therefore, the greater chunk of hardship Ghanaians are facing today can mostly be attributed to the poor performance of the NDC administration. And many Ghanaians are aware of that and the NDC propaganda team should stop insulting their intelligence.
