Former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has backed the calls by members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament for the heads of Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
The MPs have appealed to the President to listen to the voice of the people and show the two an exit from his government.
Over 80 MPs of the ruling New Patriotic Party have signed a petition to the President.
"We were about forty MPs at this meeting, and Kwami a clarion call was made that our leader(Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu) should inform the President that we are done with Ken Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen and so they should resign and go...wherever the President goes Ken Ofori-Atta's name is mentioned...Ken Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen are an immediate concern," the Member of Parliament for Subin, Eugene Boakye Antwi told host of Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, Kwami Sefa Kayi.
Hon. Boakye Antwi argued that the Finance Minister "seems to be experimenting with this country and we've had enough" and fumed that should the President refuse to "let Ken Ofori-Atta go, we are going to boycott all government business in Parliament".
Addressing the issue during 'Kokrokoo', Bernard Allotey Jacobs advised the President to sacrifice Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta to save the image of his government.
"President, sacrifice Ken Ofori-Atta and place the Finance Ministry under the office of the Vice President . . . sometimes you need to sacrifice your own," he stated.

They should hurry up and do so immediately, that will expose the vice president for us to know that ofori atta is even better than him. Today, the vp is leaking information to captain smart that he is not being given the opportunity to turn the economy around, so giving him that opportunity will help us to know how superincompetent he is. He therefor would have no one to blame again.
Chaaii, the Ghana cedi itself wants Ofori atta to go, the cedi on hearing that Ghanaians including the ruling party's own MP's are demanding the sack of the man appreciated against the dollar from 16 to 13 cedis to a dollar. Remember president kufour knocked off 4 zeros from the old Ghana cedi during the redenomination exercise in 2007, but for that wise and smart move by the enterprising kufour Ghanaians today would have been exchanging 160,000 old cedis for 1 U S dollar. Remember GHC 1 today was C10,000 before 2007. This is how serious Ghana has been brought to it's knees by one man and his nephew which the man calls excellent.
I disagree. If Ken Ofori atta have brothers and sisters the president should appoint them to the finance ministry as additional deputy ministers. We need the whole Ken Ofori atta family to bring the economy back on track. He shouldn't delay. Ken Ofori atta is more important than the 30 million Ghanaians, never, never sacrifice him for the sake of Ghanaians after it was ken's family that voted for you to be president not Ghanaians. Don't listen to Allotey Jacobs, he's joking.
