The former NDC Chairman for the Central Region, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has urged President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to allow the calls by Members of Parliament of his party, the New Patriotic Party, sway him from ruling the country.
Touching on the NPP MPs' request for the dismissal of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen, Allotey Jacobs urged the President to remain focused on his administration.
More than eighty (80) members of the Majority Caucus have threatened to boycott Parliamentary sittings should the President refuse to sack Mr. Ofori-Atta and Mr. Adu Boahen.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the MPs stressed; "if our request is not responded to positively, we will not be present for the budget hearing, neither will we participate in the debate."
Allotey Jacobs, speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, was of a strong view that the President will not buckle under the pressure.
"Nana is a fighter. Everybody knows but why is it that now that he is President, he is almost making more enemies than friends? He's not lost his fighting spirit but when you are a leader, you experience these things...I believe that the President should be focused," he told Kwami Sefa Kayi.

Allotey Jacobs, you were once the central regional chairman of the NDC when NPP was also there. You decided to abandon the NDC for reasons best known to you. Therefore you can't pretend to like Akuffo Addo more than those who have been in the NPP from 1992 to date. The 53%+ percent Akuffo Addo got in the 2016 elections is one of the highest if not the highest for any presidential candidate in the fourth republic. This alone is enough evidence that Ghanaians like Akuffo Addo. Unfortunately he had become his own enemy number 1. The fact that Ghanaians like him doesn't mean they like him more than themselves. Before 2016 irrespective of how wealthy Akuffo Addo was he was buying his own fuel, paying for his electricity, water, clothing, vehicles, food, health care among others. Today thanks to Ghanaians you are enjoying all these things free at the expense of the tax payer because the people voted for you to be president. Infact they have helped you to move from grade B to A. They therefore expected him to also move them from Grade D to at least C. Unfortunately he has rather moved them from grade D to F and you think the people will still like him? As if that is not enough he goes about making unguided utterances given the least opportunity. The lifestyle of he together with some of his greedy, ethnocentric, empty pride, boot lickers is even worse. A leader must have a listening ear and be sensitive to his environment. The presidency is a privilege not a right, if it's about wealth, handsomeness, intelligence, knowledge, international appeal, name all the virtues, Akuffo Addo will not be president. You can't have a population of 30 million plus people and one person thinks he is always right, all others are wrong, how? Akuffo Addo has only 2 eyes, how many eyes do 30 million people have? You think your 2 eyes sees more them? Between Monday and today, he would have known the country is hot. People are not happy with him at all. It's like we trusted him more than he deserves. He should pray hard he doesn't hand over to John Mahama, if he does he will go down as the worse president in Ghana's history, from Mansa Musah ancient Ghana empire to date. Our current predicament is not Covid 19 or any Russia Ukraine war. Burkina Faso does not produce oil, that country is landlocked, their fuel tankers travel thousands of kilometers into Ghana to lift fuel and travel back yet still fuel is cheaper in Burkina Faso than Ghana, why? Infact you will save GHC 800.00 if you buy a drum of diesel in Burkina Faso. How are they able to dodge Covid 19 and Russia Ukraine and we can't. Your cousin is messing up the economy, change him to another ministry, nobody is saying sack him and chinchinaaaa you say no. Is Ghana your personal property. Have you seen or heard anybody asking John mahama to sack or change somebody? No, because he's not the president. We voted for you to be president, you didn't vote for us to qualify to vote as Ghanaians, so you owe Ghanaians, Ghanaians don't owe you one pesewa so when we speak to you, better listen. Remember all the 80+ plus MP's angry with you all voted for you, you didn't vote for all of them to be MP's. Some got more votes than you in their constituencies so it's not because of you the people voted for them. Don't spoil those who are also eyeing the presidency on the ticket of the NPP. You can tell the people of kwabre they can vote for the NDC, that's their problem not yours? In 2016 and 2020 under the influence of alcohol will you answer them the way you did. You are your own enemy, nobody hates Hmmmm.
