A Lecturer at the Central University, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah says there will be numerous road accidents if proper care is not taken because people now prefer to look at their petrol gauge whilst driving than to concentrate on the road.
According to him, the astronomical daily increase in fuel prices is gradually battering the economy and further implanting hardships on the life of Ghanaians.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, the much troubled lawyer quizzed if it was a crime to be Ghanaian because he cannot fathom what was really going on in the country.
"Do we really have leaders in this country, because it looks like things are going berserk. I'm a livestock farmer and I don't think I can keep my livestock till Christmas because pig feed has become very expensive. Like wise other products, businesses too are collapsing and there is daily rage in trotros and taxis."
"Things are generally not going on well and I must confess the government needs to sit and have some people fired," he stressed.
"I am really confused, is it a crime to be a Ghanaian? Our leaders are blaming the economic hardship on external factors but what about other African countries whose economy are much better than ours. Are they not affected by these external factors? he asked.

I think this so called economic gurus are there by name. I wished they would stop their long talks in the classrooms and come to field and practice what they teach. Text book talk in the classroom is cheap.
@kofi 123, The bad Akkufo Addo has being able to implement what your NDC could not do for the past 27 years. Even developed countries are falling at this time how much more Ghana. Don’t forget Ghana was just recovering from IMF conditionalities plus our poor system to contain global shock. Our current condition goes beyond a mere change of government. It’s the poor system we have built from independence as a country that this global economic crisis has exposed us. Maybe things will get better if we allow parties to implement national developmental agenda than their own manifestos.
We have to keep quite and suffer. The NDC warned us Nana Addo Danquah Akoffo Addo was a dander head but we failed to listen. How can someone from a privileged home with no economic challenge end up with third class? His father then ships him to France and UK for holidays and upon his return doctor a law certificate for him. And we said Nana's lecturers in Legon disliked him. He cannot even think through and choose from a range of advices his cabinet gives him.
You are educated so you should know better. Read and listen to world news. Almighty Germany is going bankrupt.
