Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu says he will be heading to Parliament to petition the House for the resignation of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He vows not to rest until the first gentleman resigns for his abysmal leadership and mismanagement of the economy.
Martin Kpebu said the wanton corruption and mismanagement of the economy give a clear indication that Ghanaians can no longer wait until the end of Mr Akufo-Addo’s four-year term.
He told NEAT FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie, in an interview that he will be at the August House on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, to petition the lawmakers.
“There is an online petition going on, by Wednesday, I will submit that to parliament,” he noted.
Martin Kpebu was the brain behind the just-ended ‘Kume Preko Reloaded' demonstration to force the president and some of his ministers to resign. He is spearheading a campaign to have the president together with his vice abdicate their respective seats in order to pave way for the constitutional provision for their replacement to be set in motion.

There is something fundamentally wrong about how speculation or perception is relied upon to take hold of real facts when you hear some academics, lawyers, and politicians make certain statements to argue out their stances at the expense of informed opinions. I believe there is a lot of intellectual dishonesty in our political space in Ghana. Or do we make incorrect assumptions? We wrongly measure the intellect of people by their level of proficiency in the Queen's language. When such people fail to effectively or intellectually communicate their views, they tend to be insulting and spew lies. Unfortunately, such characters abound in the NDC and their cohorts in the paid press. They are the elements that have jumped on the president, calling him names and hurling insults at him after his candid address. The Ghanaian economy has structural problems that are inherited from our colonial past. There is a lot of intellectual dishonesty here when you hear some pundits of the economics speak about the current challenges as if they are solely the result of the mess of the Akufo-Addo administration, if there is any at all. Meanwhile, the Akufo-Addo administration is the only one in the Fourth Republic to have made a concerted effort to target the structural deficit of the economy. Specifically, FSHS, 1D1F, and the railroad infrastructure, just to name a few. However, the Kufuor administration laid some remarkable trails. The same cannot be said of any NDC administration making a targeted policy to resolve the structural problems except vilification of its political opponents. Ghana beyond the aid agenda is a policy direction, and some dishonest elements seek to ridicule it as a mere slogan. By the way, Ghana's tourism has realized a remarkable boost in the recent times of the Akufo-Administration. The president made it clear in his speech that we are in crisis, and I see the pandemic and the Ukraine war as the last straw that broke the camel’s back given our unsustainable economic structures.
Time is exposing our so called intellectuals’ emptiness and dishonesty…Martin is so bitter NDC hog hiding behind elitism.Tho there’s economic crisis his NDC is never an alternative.
Shameful 'Lawyer'!
Deep Reflection! I am beginning to understand that the Paying of tithes is just like E-levy, every new hand (receiver) is expected to pay something (smh). The church and the government of Ghana is the same. They are all scammers, or something is not being done right. This is the reason why the government is not able to control the churches and the leaders of churches are also afraid and/or fail to speak up about the government. They are all doing the same exact things. Let's all speak truth to power. What about if we decide to have religious representation in parliament? What about if the government institute an entity that would audit churches? The mega corporate churches in Ghana (all know their names and don’t force me to mention any church) are the biggest culprit of the spiral depreciation value of our once strong cedi. Trust you me, almost all these churches have a foreign account (predominantly, dollar, pound, Euros). The same offerings and tithes are used as a weapon to devalue our currency because these collections in cedi values from churches are changed into the hard currencies. Is the government not aware of these? Passing of a bill or amending parts of our constitutions and backed by stringent penalties will help in diversifying power in more hands and strengthening our institutions. I believe none of these bodies (churches and the government) would be afraid to discharge its core constitutionally mandated duties without fear or favor. Guess what? A true and pure checks and balances would be injected into our social, political, religious, and economic landscape. I hope someone will listen to this. God save our Nation. God save our country. God heal our land.
'Ahocyaaa' Lawyer. He is bitter! Look at how you were disgraced!

I phoned a relative in Accra from the UK to find out how the demonstration organised by Martin Kpebu was going on. She asked me, what demonstration? She has not heard about it. Now Martin is going to parliament to petition them. Is this guy really serious? He is trying to stampede us into this bogus dream of his. Waste of time.
