The NDC, currently the biggest opposition party in Ghana, has quite a wrong perception about the practice of multi-party democracy. Theirs is the vilification of the ruling party as the surest way to gain political power. In recent times, the malicious propaganda and character defamation of the hardworking members of the ruling party have unfortunately become the staple of opposition politics. However, the louder and more diabolic the vilification becomes, the more indication there is that the ruling party seems to be doing well in terms of providing physical infrastructure. The dynamics have changed positively because Ghanaians have become more politically mature and look up to the party that has the competence, good will, credibility, and right policies to improve their livelihood. That is why I strongly believe the 2024 elections are going to serve as an alarming signal for the NDC to change its modus operandi of diabolical politics. In contemporary multiparty democracy, the stress is on the competition for better alternative policies to turn things around and improve the livelihood of the electorate.
