President Akufo-Addo has reiterated his conviction to build the national cathedral.
“The reasons for my decision to mobilize support for the construction of the National Cathedral remain unchanged. the interdenominational national cathedral will help unify the Christian community, and thereby help promote national unity and social cohesion,” he said while speaking at a Bible reading marathon at the project site.
He re-emphasized that “it will not just be another national monument but the rallying point for the entire Christian community to come together and worship, pray and promote deep conversation on the role of faith in building mother Ghana".
Government spends almost GH¢340 million

Kudos to our dear President for his unwavering commitment to constructing a national cathedral to promote a national platform for interdenominational coexistence while acknowledging the diversity of Christian churches. There are those who will argue that you have not set the priorities right for a cathedral, but there are regimes that can easily lose the money spent there through corruption. I do not want to point fingers at any party because it's just too obvious. We often overlook one critical point: employing the expertise of one of our own, a renowned world-class architect who has done similar work somewhere else.
THIS IS THE MOST ***barred word*** PRESIDENT I HAVE WITNESSED ON THIS PLANET WE HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS FACING MOTHER GHANA YET THIS ***barred word*** THINK BUILDING SOME ***barred word*** CATHEDRAL IS GOING TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEM HE HAS JUST LOST TOUCH WITH REALITY ...GOD SAVE GHANA
Good news. Nana Addo build the cathedral and most Ghanaians support it. I will donate to let you write this history for our dear country. God bless Nana Addo.
DO THIS WHILE NURSES AND TEACHERS NOT PAID AND CHILDREN STILL LEARNING UNDER TRESS. A COUNTRY THAT BORROWS MONEY TO PAY IT WORKERS AND ON IMF AND USE THE MONEY FOR ***barred word*** THINGS LIKE THIS. JOKING PRESIDENT
The National Cathedral will be built no matter what the ev!l and corrupt NDC gang thinks.
God blessed the president for his contribution, I believe The Creator of the Universe will continue to blessed you and your unborn generations, Ghanaians will never forget the sacrifices you are making towards the development of Ghana. Isn’t everyone who will like you and is normal, someone became president and Ghanaians saw how he mismanaged the country, using state funds to purchase houses for women, Ghanaians saw how the women fought over that former president, it was very shameful and the same person who plunged the country into darkness, cancelled nursing and teachers allowances, used state funds to paint common buses at the cost of the taxpayer. All that happened but some Ghanaians didn’t see nothing wrong with that, very shameful and disgraceful. Nana Addo upon all the global crisis, Ghanaian children are enjoying free SHS and nurses and teachers are receiving their allowances, nothing happened under Mr airbus but he cancelled them, took the country to IMF but now complaining about economic hardships, such a hypocrisy to the highest level. Ghanaians should open their eyes and thank God for what they have, there’s hardship everywhere under the sun. What is the alternative? Very dangerous and scary.
That's fine. If you were funding the cathedral from your own coffers including donations from your friends and appointees nobody will complain. The challenge is using the tax payers money for a project they don't consider to be a priority. If you promised God to build a cathedral for him should he make you the president of Ghana, that's is between you and your God. To 'force' the tax payer to accept your personal promise to God against their wish is where the challenge lies, after you are 'chopping ' the president alone. In Ghana every national project that is engulfed in disagreements is abandoned or rediculed by in coming governments even if it's completed. Bet me if NDC comes this cathedral will be a white elephant even if completed. They will never use it for any occasion.
