Do you need any Ghanaian movies to buy at a very cheap price? Then get yourself a storage device such as flash drives or external hard drive and have as low as GH¢0.50 and you can get a full Ghanaian movie to buy.
Get to Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Kaneshie, Madina, Kasoa, Accra Central etc and you can see young men in broad daylight selling and downloading locally produced movies from their laptops to people who come there to purchase movies onto their storage devices.
All you need is to mention the name of the movie you want, with a quick search on their laptops and external hard drives connected to their laptops, you can get Part 1 of the movie for just GH¢0.50.
If you need Part 1 to Part 4 of any local Ghanaian movie, each costs GH¢0.50. So you need just GH¢ 2 for all the movies you want.
This revelation came when Accra-based Onua 95.1 FM’s Emmanuel Agyemang went undercover in the pretence of getting more information from these local movie downloaders.
Emmanuel Agyemang on Wednesday afternoon approached a young man believed to be in his 20s who does his downloading business at Kwame Nkrumah Circle close to the Orion Cinema.
He has two laptops with the main laptop having two external hard drives connected to it.
In a conversation, the young man told him Part 1 of his choice – Fabewoso and Abusua Nni Nkae – will cost him GH¢0.50. He also wanted Shatta Wale’s Forgetti and Ayoo; each of the songs cost GH¢0.20.
At the end of the day, the undercover journalist paid GH¢2.40 for his materials.
Following up on the issue on Onua FM, Christian Agyei Frimpong spoke to Kumasi-based movie director/producer and Ashanti Region Chairman of the Film Directors Guild, Isaiah Kofi Appiah, who was privy to the Emmanuel Agyemang’s encounter as it was carried live on air.
According to Isaiah Kofi Appiah, movie producers spend about GH¢50,000 to produce a single movie, so if these young men will sell their movies for just GH¢0.50 then they are going to take the matter up seriously and make sure they will arrest all the perpetrators.
Mr Appiah commended Onua 95.1 FM for taking such a bold step to expose some of the people who are destroying the movie industry.

This is what is killing the local movie industry. The industry players are just in their homes with big positions. Actors Guild President, Actors Guild this, Actors Guild that, etc. Office without work. All you know is for the government to give money so that you will be fighting over it. (Bill asamoah vs Agya Koo). This is what you need to do, fight piracy with the police. I heard you banned all your movies on VIP Buses; instead of getting them to pay royalties. Thick Heads.
Funny. This thing has been going on in years and no one cares so why sweat over it?. The laws of this country are not working at all if i must say. There was an intance where bar soap was wrapped and sold to a military man who believed it was a mobile phone. Upon reaching home, he realised he's been duped. He mobilised his colleaguess and went back to Circle, where he bought it and they started beating any phone seller they set their eyes on cos the culprit was no where to be found. My question is why should u buy from a guy who approaches u with two or three phones in hand without a station??.My point is if we stop patronising them they'll stop their criminal activities but if we dont, no amount of threat can stop them cos they know we love quality but less expensive stuff in ghana.
Hmmmmm charley this computer world has turn to something else in this country oooo someone will spend thousands on a movie and u wil download on ur laptop and sell it for 50pesewas, aaa abeg arrest them
