The Akwaaba Group launched the eighteenth (8th) edition of the Ghana Party in the Park UK at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Accra.
The Ghana Party in the park is an annual outdoor festival held in London for the Ghanaian Community in the diaspora. Hosted by Akwaaba Group since 2005. The festival attracts over 10,000 people, making it the biggest Ghanaian event outside of Ghana. Attracting visitors from the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and Ghana
The event is expected to host an EXPO dubbed Ghana Party in the Park EXPO for the first time on the 14th of July which is to create a business network between stakeholders and customers.
Personalities who were present at the launch include Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts & Culture, Honorable Mark Okraku-Mantey, British High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, President of GUBA Enterprise Dentaa Amoateng MBE.
The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Harriet Thompson said last year's event was distracted by the 2020 covid-19 pandemic and she hopes this year's event is going to be an amazing event in the United Kingdom.
She said this event will create a positive picture for Ghana and the ultimate goal of the festival is to showcase Ghanaian music, food, arts, fashion etc. to the world.
Deputy Minister of Tourism arts and culture, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey in his remarks commended the organisers for coming up with such an event in order to portray African culture to the rest of the world, especially in the United Kingdom.
