Ghanaian striker Eric Bekoe scored his 11th Egyptian Premier League goal to go into the break as topscorer as he rescued Petrojet in a 1-1 draw with Arab Contractors on Sunday.
Hosts Contractors went ahead in the 35th minute through Reda Al-Weeshi before Bekoe brought snatched the leveler on 73 minutes. Bekoe has three goals more than his closet challenger Ahmed Abdul-Ghani of Harras Hodoud (8 goals).
The draw puts Petrojet on 29 points; six points behind leaders Al Ahli which beat Military Production 1-0.
The Egyptian league has been halted in order for the Egyptian national team to prepare for next month's Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
