The Referees Committee of the Ghana Football Association has suspended indefinitely three referees for their abysmal performances in the Glo Premier League.
Cape-Coast-based Joseph Macarthy and his assistant Suleman Braimah, were charged for conspiring to deny Hearts a perfect goal in their League match AshantiGold at the Ohene Djan Stadium two weeks ago. The duo are accused of awarding a dubious penalty-kick for Hearts in the said match.
The Referees Committee say the conduct of the two referees was inconsistent with the rules of the game Referee Charles Tagoe who handled last week's late kick-off between Eleven Wise and Hearts of Oak at the Sekondi Stadium has been suspended.
Tagoe failed to apply the rules of the game by allowing Wise goalkeeper Theophilus Jackson to remain on the pitch despite punching Hearts striker Samuel Affum.
Jackson hit Affum on suspicion that the latter had planted ''juju'' in the Wise goal post. The referee decided to show Affum a yellow card and left goalkeeper Jackson unpunished.
