King Faisal FC overcame the odds to secure their first win of the 2013/2014 Premier League season with a hard-fought 3-2 win over visiting Wa All Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.
Faisal were stretched to their elastic limit and it took the ingenuity of Sulley Mohammed, who registered a hat-trick, to subdue the visitors.
Sulley scored in the second, 45th and 60th minutes to seal victory for the homers, while Sam Boateng and Joseph Adjei were on the scoring sheet for All Stars in the 32nd and 55th minutes, respectively.
The visitors throughout the game gave a good account of themselves, dominating the match, particularly in the midfield.
All Stars twice came from behind to level the scoring but were denied at least a point as Sulley scored the winning goal to carry the day for the homers.
