Panathinaikos new technical director Gilberto Silva must decide on the future of unhappy Ghana ace Michael Essien.
Essien has been unsettled at the Greek giants since making that switch during the summer window on a free transfer.
The battling midfielder has been down the pecking order for a long period.
Essien has made 13 appearances and scored one goal for Andrea Stramaccioni’s side.
He last played for the Greens on 13 March as a second half substitute in the 4-1 defeat at Olympiakos.
