Ghana winger Christian Atsu has admitted huge disappointment in the Black Stars inability to reach the final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The on-loan Newcastle United player featured in Thursday's 2-0 to defeat Cameroon in the semi-final.
Atsu believes the players gave their all with a spirited display but could not achieve their target of winning the tournament.
"Yes of course we are very disappointed because for us we were fighting to win the cup. We knew that even making it to the final was nothing for us," Atsu said in a post-match interview.
"We had no option than to win the ultimate at the tournament and we lost in the semi-final.
''I can see in the dressing room that everybody was disappointed."

Atsu and Jordan Ayew shouldn't have been invited in the first place. These two S U CK ERS should think about their future. Atsu future is hanging in balance and Benitez hates Blacks so Atsu should cut off his hair style and start being serious and Ghana officials shouldn't be involve in politics we have two Ayews whilst we only need one. Aston Villa went relegation due to Jordan Ayew and yet officials invited this Unserious guy to play for the Nation. Sack Grant!!!! Sack Jordan and Atsu
I think the Black Stars did their best just that luck was not on our side. we had all the chances but cud not get the ball behind the net. the Cameroonians appeared more stronger than our team on the field of play and we could have counter them with a more experienced players at least at the beginning of thew 2nd half.
No two players in Ghana's history have wasted more scoring opportunities than Christian Atsu and Jordan Ayew. How these two players get to start EVERY game is puzzling. They do the right things outside the box, but always fail to convert. It has been 5 years now. Their output has been disappointing. How can we have players like Kwadwo Asamoah, Sulley Muntari and KP Boateng and let these two players start ALL the games. Whoever influences selections must stop. He is a sellout and does not seek Ghana's best interests. These players will fail to learn and ultimately, they will not get top clubs in Europe. So the next thing will be to recruit other younger players to replace them. And our team succession system will be a mess.
