Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, has handed over a 3-bedroom house to Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah as official residence at a short ceremony.
The move follows revelation that government was shelling out $8,000 per month on hotel accommodation for Black Stars coaches.
The facility, located at Airport Residential Area, was renovated at a cost of GHS 300,000, according to the sports minister, and was previously an abode of government ministers.
It will serve as the official residence of all Black Stars coaches in the future.
“This will save the government a lot of money. The practice of paying huge sums of money in the past to hotels was never a good idea and was draining the state,” Asiamah said at the short ceremony.
