NPP National Youth Organizer, Nana Boakye has urged students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to remain calm and stop vandalizing properties on campus.
Nana Boakye has asked the students to heave a sigh of relief as the government is working to bring a lasting solution to the misunderstanding between the students and the University authorities.
Students at Katanga Hall of the KNUST, on Monday, October 22, 2018, embarked on a violent demonstration against the University authorities.
The students thronged the streets on campus in their numbers, clad in red and amidst the protest vandalized several properties including the office and car of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso.
A misunderstanding between the students and the school's authorities resulted in the arrest of about 10 students, leading up to the demonstration.
The students are also protesting against a decision by the Vice Chancellor and the authorities to turn the all-male Katanga Hall into a mixed hall with females.
There were disturbing scenes on campus as the students destroyed and burned down some properties, ranging from cars to motorbikes.
Nana Boakye, popularly called Nana B, has hinted that the Vice Chancellor will soon become "history".
This is to assure them that the Vice Chancellor will be sanctioned accordingly to perhaps avoid Katanga Hall being mixed with females.
"I am very confident that Prof Obiri-Danso will soon be history. Very very soon," he posted.

When u stay in a country where people come to power through violence this is what happens. We praise such people as brave and they take it in and misbehave. this is typical of the NPP so am not surprised at all.
WHY SOME PEOPLE ARE BLAMING THE GOVERNMENT FOR, BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT CANT DO ALL THE JOBS IN GHANA THAT IS WHY , HE APPOINTED PEOPLE TO BE IN CHARGE LIKE THE CHANCELLOR AT KNUST TO DEAL WITH INTERNAL ISSUES OF THE UNIVERSITY IN KUMASI. SO YOU SHOULD BLAMED THE CHANCELLOR IN CHARGE. AND LEAVES THE GOVERNMENT ALONE IN EVERYTHING. SO THE CHANCELLOR NEEDS TO BE SACKED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, SINCE NANA CAME TO POWER THE CHANCELLOR IS ALWAYS CREATING PROBLEMS TO THE STUDENTS, WHY
I cannot believe this is happening in Ghana. you are admitted as a student in an institution and all of a sudden you behave as if you own it. The University authorities can decide to turn Katanga to an all female hall. I will applaud if them if that produces intelligent, consientious and responsible citizens. Infact, I don't blame the students. I put the blame squarely on the head of government. Government machinery should not have entertained the visit by the old students to the Jubilee House to see the President. Can you imagine what would have happened if SHS students decided to demonstrate against the Double track system. Such acts of lawlessness and impunity must stop. What is the Education Minister, Hon. Matthew Poku Prempeh going to do at KNUST? Why not Prof Kwesi Yankah who is charge of Tertiary
Let the VC be history for you to take over ? irresponsible talk. ***barred word***
Nana B,so u are supporting this irresponsible act.am very disappointed in you.women groups in Ghana where are you? ls it now wrong for female students to mixed with male counterparts on campus.hmmmm.very disappointing.continue to destroy the few resources available after all you will be supported by npp youth leader.posterity will judge us all
Stop this foolishness. How dare you say such a s-tu-p-id thing? And why are you meddling in the affairs of the university. Shut your face and concentrate on what your feeble intellect can cope with. Students have no right to destroy properties of individuals if they are angry. I hope each one of them is surcharged.
This nana boakye too, who does he think he is. Why does he want to meddle in every situation with politics. KNUST is not part of npp. If there is a problem there, it does not lie in the mouth of the fooddian, to say the ptofessor will be a thing of the past soon. The fact that the students do not agree with measures he has taken does not mean he is wrong and the students are right. Is vandalism the way to go when you disagree with authorities? Are saying if Ghanaians go on demonstrations against nana addo it means he should be history. Much as you are using this for political gain, very soon this same yardstick would used to judge nana addo and you end up in opposition to go and issue threats to your mom.
RRubbisssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Another ***barred word*** talk. You can take them to your university. Bankye
Nana B, come again. What are you talking about? Please they are not the only people who been to university? What are they demonstrating for? Are they at knust to study or to protest against making halls mixed? If you don't have any advice for them don't make any ***barred word*** comments. What locus do you have to threat the VC? Were you the one who appointed him? Remember that everybody will be history except those of you who think that after completing university you still want to direct how the university should be run? If they don't want to be mixed with girls, they should build their own halls and do whatever want there.
