NPP National Youth Organizer, Nana Boakye has urged students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to remain calm and stop vandalizing properties on campus.
Nana Boakye has asked the students to heave a sigh of relief as the government is working to bring a lasting solution to the misunderstanding between the students and the University authorities.
Students at Katanga Hall of the KNUST, on Monday, October 22, 2018, embarked on a violent demonstration against the University authorities.
The students thronged the streets on campus in their numbers, clad in red and amidst the protest vandalized several properties including the office and car of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso.
A misunderstanding between the students and the school's authorities resulted in the arrest of about 10 students, leading up to the demonstration.
The students are also protesting against a decision by the Vice Chancellor and the authorities to turn the all-male Katanga Hall into a mixed hall with females.
There were disturbing scenes on campus as the students destroyed and burned down some properties, ranging from cars to motorbikes.
Nana Boakye, popularly called Nana B, has hinted that the Vice Chancellor will soon become "history".
This is to assure them that the Vice Chancellor will be sanctioned accordingly to perhaps avoid Katanga Hall being mixed with females.
"I am very confident that Prof Obiri-Danso will soon be history. Very very soon," he posted.

We have given so much power to politicians to make irresponsible statements. How can a mere political party youth organizer talk like this to a university professor? Because of politics people who cannot even write an article are talking against a whole VC. How can hall conversion lead to vandalizing school properties and we are politicizing it?
What happened to respect to our elders? If tomorrow they turn on you what would you say? Youth Leader? Seek counsel from Sammy Awuku. What kind of advice is this?
You have students vandalizing public property and that is all you've got say. The students involved in this act ought to be sacked and fined. ***barred word***! Come and see if this ***barred word*** will tolerated anywhere in the world. This animalistic behavior from these young adults must not be tolerated in any shape or form.
***barred word*** comment from a ***barred word***. Is it in your power/ place to say these? Politicians must stay away from state institutions and allow them to work.
This is an irresponsible statement coming from a youth leader. Our effort as a country must be geared towards bread and better issues confronting the poor voter. What has the change of hall from all male to mix got to do with the well being of students and the economy? I misplaced priority
please stop politicizing our institutions. why would you get ride of the man because student protested. These things in our politics must stop
must it come from u and in what capacity koraa.at times we need not talk hastily just to please someone
