The National Organizer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams may not seek re-election, if the party opens nomination to kick start the process for internal jostling for posts in the party.
The outspoken NDC executive is eyeing a parliamentary seat in the Volta – and has a team working underground to ensure that his ambition to become a lawmaker becomes a reality.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the former spokesperson for the founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings says rumors about his intention to contest a parliamentary seat “should not be ruled out” – if the party opens nomination to kick start the process.
“I don’t want to say I won’t or will contest the National Organizer position again, it will have some effects. People are putting out their rumors out there [concerning my MP ambition] but we are still engaging people privately. I can’t disclose that on radio,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
Reports say Mr. Adams’ decision to contest as MP stem from calls from residents as well as the youth of the area for him to represent them in Parliament.

@KB, you are on point.Granted that even the seat is safe for the NDC, he is not going to have it easy with the sitting MP wherever he chooses to stand.
Backdoor approach to stay relevant. You think the Volta of today is the same when you entered through from Togo? Try it. In fact why are all these guys running away to the remote villages when they want to be MPs instead of the city where they have lived all their adult lives? I thought an MP should be for people who knew and cared about their constituencies. Interesting times, the boundaries are shrinking and very soon when the free SHS matures, even the villages, there will be no space for people like these to hide.
