An Activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Garu Tempane Constituency, Mr Emmanuel Bukari has been invited by the Tempane Divisional Police CID over a video which has gone viral on various social media platforms, involving an aspiring National Organizer of the NDC, Joshua Akamba and students of the Tempane Senior High School in the Upper East Region.
The Police CID was accompanied by the Headmaster of Tempane Senior High School and the Garu Tempane NPP Constituency Secretary, Anabida Isaaka.
The invitation by the Police is believed to be an intimidating tactic, influenced by the Member of Parliament for the area, Joseph Dinkiok Kpemka who is also the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
Mr. Joshua Akamba, who was on a tour of the Upper East Region as part of his campaign for the National Organizer position of the NDC, paused to interact with the students of the school, amidst chantings like "NDC", "JM 2020", "NDC 2020" when they saw the NDC colours on his car.
The video captured the students complaining bitterly to Mr. Joshua Akamba about their living conditions in the school, the congestion in the various dormitories leading to the outbreak of bed buds and bemoaned the reckless nature in which the noble free Senior High School programme is being implemented by the Akufo-Addo led government.
The Police has since being promising to arrest all NDC activists who were with Mr. Akamba in the school.

By their fruits we shall know them. All the campaign against 'this free SHS' is just a ploy by the 'haves' (mostly from P/NDC,who have ruled the country for about 27years from 1981). Who turned state companies/ corporations eg State Fishing/ GIHOC, GNTC, ABOSO GLASS FACTORY, Asutuare and Komenda Sugar Factories, State Hotels into private hotels like Golden Tulip, over to families and friends, in the name divestiture. They scrapped the Elementary and Secondary School System (of O & A Levels), introduced Jnr & Snr Secondary Systems ) only to send their children and family members overseas on scholarships to the neglect of the majority. They prefer segregation ( 'they and us' to 'all of us') getting formal education. tHEY USED 4 YEARS TO BUILD 47 Community Schools. Yet they others to use 2 years to build all the schools for the majority, who need secondary education now. Even though they have all the money , with their 'every four years out power 'ESB's), inflated 'contract' moneys, stashed away 'lootings'etc. They are still discouraging the '***barred word*** masses' against 'free education', throwing dust into their eyes. Ghanaian masses shine your eyes , lest 'these self and only family n friends interest seeking' ' politicians rob you of your 'little ' part of the national cake. DONT SAY I DID NOT TELL YOU.
I am afraid you are speaking from your behind. What is propaganda about speaking the truth of the bottlenecks in the introduction of free SHS. Instead of acknowledging that poor planning is what has caused these numerous problems, you are quick to rather insult those who are making sense on this issue. How dare you use sarcastic words that parents who don't like free shs shout allow their wards to walk the streets. That fact you give free food to someone doesn't mean if that beneficiary sees poison in the food he should complain. Why do we have so many fuuuuulls in npp. Because its free SHS even if students and parents are going through difficulties they should keep quiet because its free? By the way, is nana addo sponsoring free SHS with his father's inheritance, if he even has any, because nyantakyi has sold he has sold all his father's inheritance to the family. If he is enjoying everything for free why not all Ghanaians. I am not he has his suitcases outside Flagstaff house, so he should provide proper accommodations for students who have their trunks and boxes outside their dormitories.
While admitting that the free SHS programme faces difficulties it is also a fact that nobody forced any parent to send their wards to these government schools. if anybody feels that the situation is unbearable, they can simply withdraw their kids and let them sell in the streets.i am confident that by next year the infrastructural difficulties would be eased. The NDC abhors education. How can you blatantly deceive people if they can read ,write, and comprehend the things that go on around them?As for the cretinous creature who decided to do partisan politics on a school premise, can he go to PRE-Sec or Achimota to say those I-di-otic things to the students? Notherners should know that they stand to gain more from the programme than anyone else. If they choose to listen to NDC propaganda they will lose out.
Please check the spelling for bed bugs not buds.
Interesting times. I loved the free SHS so much when nana addo announced it, but i never expected it to face so much problems. Yes, problems are in inevitable in every new project or policy being introduced, however i think nana addo rushed the program. You can't just take over power and all of a sudden without wide stakeholder consultation and discussion go ahead and introduce such a very important policy. At least the third year of your tenure could have made the free SHS the best. This is because you could have spoken to a lot of educational experts, could have built enough building in three years, could have trained enough teachers and could have eliminated virtually all major bottlenecks, then students would enjoy the free SHS and you will get you votes as you wish. As it is now parents are speaking against it because some of them are paying for hostels as well as extra classes for their wards. Others are moving their students to private schools and paying huge sums of money because of fear of poor quality and outbreak of diseases. Most first year students are not fed good food because they don't pay and as a result these students are likely to vote against npp in the next election. Though npp introduced this for votes it is certain the problems of free SHS would rather make them lose votes. I don't blame nana addo, i blame NAPO, EDUTWUM AND BARWUMIA. They are the cause of this problems, they should have exercised some restraint before implementation.
@mikki... Which of the NPP ministers have their children in the free shs thing.? You're being foooled rather... Their children are in the best of schools outside the country even though most of them are block headed because of the stolen money their parents got for them !!! We hear teachers are now organising extra classes in the schools because they can't handle the huge classes , so our parents have to pay extra classes fees !!! Conditions in the schools are not the best and our children can't contract diseases because of your campaign promises !!!
So Awuku which would you prefer: Your child being in an overcrowded school and getting educated or your child unable to go to school because there will be over crowding and growing up a stark uneducated ***barred word*** fooul??
I think Ghana police under nana addo is very use.less. How can you invite someone simply because he has exposed a major problem the free SHS is facing? After watching the video, i did not see any sensible reason for inviting anyone for questioning. Was it factual that students have their boxes and trunks outside? Was it factual that some of the students showed evidence of being biten by bugs as a result of overcrowding? Is it not shameful that students will learn under such conditions? By the way, who put a gun to the head of nana addo and barwumia to introduce free SHS without taking into consideration some of these problems? Npp is a total fraud. Ghanaians are suffering while nana and barwumia are enjoying.
