The Brong Ahafo Regional First Vice Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as ‘Abronye DC’ has described NDC’s Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak as a 'mad' person.
According to him, the law maker’s intention to back words with action by riding a bicycle to Parliament from Tuesday in protest of the high cost of fuel and the economic conditions under the Akufo-Addo administration is mere ‘stupidity’.
“Ras Mubarak needs a psychiatric examination. His own party member [Brigadier Joseph Nunoo-Mensah] ones said ‘if you think the price of fuel is high park your car and use a bicycle’. So if he’s ready to park his car to ride a bicycle then he is mentally sick, he is mad,” Abronye DC said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
The NDC law maker has in recent times expressed his frustration over President Akufo-Addo’s failure to deliver to Ghanaians the ‘haven’ he promised during his campaign time.
With the 2019 budget set to be delivered later in November, Ras Mubarak perhaps hopes it actually delivers on the hopes promised and also offers relief to Ghanaians.
The prices of both petrol and diesel have risen by about 2.76 percent. The price of petrol and diesel is currently pegged at about GH¢5.21 per litre, up from the previous price of GH¢5.07 per litre, despite a reduction in the price of crude oil on the international market.
“Fuel prices keep going up. Prices of commodities keep going up and there seems to be no end in sight in respect of the suffering that ordinary Ghanaians who do not have free fuel and free vehicles maintained by the state,” Mr. Mubarak said in an interview.
But controversial Abronye DC noted that Ghanaians faced more difficulties during Mahama’s administration than the incumbent – hence, Ras Mubarak's claims are just baseless.
“NDC caused the country a lot and that is what the President is fixing now,” he told sit-in host Mac-Jerry Osei Agyeman.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, today (Tuesday) rode a bicycle to Parliament House to register his protest against the unbearable living conditions in the country.
Wearing a pair of trousers, a reflector on top of a shirt, a helmet and a pair of trainers, the legislator rode on a 17 kilometre road from his residence in Accra to Parliament. (Location of residence reserved for security reason).
Ras Mubarak told the Daily Graphic that he decided to ride the bike to highlight the sufferings that many Ghanaians were going through.

if you want to be like the commoners sell your V8 and join us. Until then just don't behave like you care about us. We are fine. We don't need you to articulate our issues because you have no clue how we survive.
Is the wife and kids going to ride bike to market and school too. If not his ***barred word*** will mean nothing.
Me MP why don’t you hand over you expensive car to the government or to the orphanage and walk? This is clear hypocrisy which can bring punishment on you. You are doing this because you know you have free medical treatments. God is watching
MR. ABRONYE DC I DO NOT PERSONALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS POINT THAT MR.RAS MUBARAK IS MAD.NO FAR FROM IT.IF HE HAS LEARNED THAT RIDDING A BIKE TO WORK ENHANCES YOUR LONGEVITY IN LIFE IN A FORM OF EXERCISE, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT? LET HIM BE. THE DUTCH PRIME MINISTER AND BORIS JOHNSON ONES BRITAIN FOREIGN SECRETARY ALL GOES TO WORK ON BICYCLES.IF YOU GO TO CHINA AND JAPAN MILLIONAIRES WHO OWN CAR COMPANIES IN A COUNTRY WHERE FUEL ARE CHEAP GOES TO WORK RIDDING BICYCLES.SO IF OUR GOVERNMENT MINISTERS WILL ALL SET EXAMPLES AND GO TO WORK RIDDING ON BICYCLES,IMAGINE HOW MUCH WE WILL SAVE AS A NATION ON THOSE V8'S CARS.
This is one of N. D. C. social intervention programmes
why cant he carry 3 bags of cement and walk to parliament, instead of riding a bike. I always says the word 'Common sense' is very expensive, and it is not as common as we know it. It is very expensive, and NOT a lot of people have it.
This MP is just doing what he doesn't understand ooooo. Come to Japan and you will see that rich are riding a bike, even they have many cars plants. In Japan, one liter of regular Petrol which they called gasoline is 154 which about 6.068 GHS. They selling it at above price because of the world market. It is not only Ghana that is facing a price hike of Fuel. Stop you ***barred word*** and cheap politic.
Its so funny that i can bet the Mp ten Ghana did not even know that the bike he was riding on was Ladies bike. What a shame he does not even know the difference gents bike and ladies bike WALAHI
Black man mentality or sub mentality. Ras Mubarak another epitome of what the NDC has become. Mediocr1ty. It is only in a political environment so polarised that f-00--1s like Ras Mubarak will attempt to prey on the ignorance of the masses and not surprisingly some people will follow his buf00--n£ry. In the UK, a whole Prime Minister then ( David Cameron), rode bicycle to work. Former Foreign secretary Boris Johnson rides a bike to work and drives a 15 year old Toyota previa when going far distances and the current opposition labour leader Jeremy Corbin rides a bike. All these people see it as beneficial to their health and also to the environment to lessen pollution. Not Ghana and Africa. ras Mubarak is a waste of space and time.
Ras Mubarak must rather sit down and think of creating jobs for his kayaye sisters than this.
